So they pull the plug on DOA with no warning, then stop attempts to rebuild the community somewhere else? It's not like we're trying to make money FFS. Unbelievable.
Proboards removing all of that work without giving us the chance to rebrand is so unreasonable. I expect this place to disappear later today, for no reason again.
There should be a DOA facebook group or something in the meantime, until someone sets up some cheap hosting and a domain. Free forums are clearly not the way to go.

I think we should wait Sable to know if he received any sort of warning, but from what I remember, one of his last posts was something about the lines of "not doa and not this logo"

I don't think they're in a position to launch proper legal proceedings. It's only the fact that it was a free forum that they could do anything to have it removed. Anyway, like I said I doubt it was even the copyright holders. Just someone who wants to see DOA die - could be any number of people.

From what I know, a cheap web hosting won't be a viable solution, as it will be a shared server, hogs on acid really need its proper server.
But i wouldn't mind paying some fee for let's say somekind of privilege, will it be a discount on a teeshirt or free exclusives mp3s or whatever... i almost spent 150 € in cigarettes per mont and they are less enjoyable than my daily dose of music and chat over "here"

im really disappointed of the owners and former runners of doa, whoever it is. the site could have always been managed better, a site in such a dimension and with such a traffic should be able to work without crashes and loading issues etc. etc. and now coming up with the copyright thing firing at a community which just want to keep up a bit of fun. come on. cunts. :script: Whoever was running DOA was obviously a major fail and killed off the site. The community was the only thing keeping it going for so long in the face of adversity and now they're being spiteful we should just accept it and go back to prop up another fail-site when it's ready? keep it.

jesus why do you keep posting the same silly name? and why make not one but several logos? stop it Silly? And Hin Eye isn't? Geeze get a grip. The reason I posted the logos is because Sable asked for help with one and several people liked the 5 minute mock up I did on the old forum. I had said I'd make a cleaner one when I got home to Photoshop. When I did the old forum was gone. But I guess you didn't read that thread and missed all of that. no, i saw that thread and i saw your repeated posts and logos of your stupid idea which noone paid any attention to, I've come here and I've seen even more, hence my use of "keep" in "keep posting".

The whole situation is ridiculous and have to admit hilarious. Anyways i really liked the dogs on the moon concept and the logo made by subsurface. Seems like dogs need to exile on the moon to survive. I hope Subsurface doesn't mind but i made some adjustments, sorry

As for the content, there doesn't have to be two extremes. While DOA isn't meant to be a family safe environment it also wasn't intended to be a porn site, a snuff site, etc It was about music right? Or is music no longer enough? I'm sure a middle ground between "family friendly" and "full on pornfest" could be struck. @ jordana i read all your comments in this thread and i very much like all your input problem is, DOA isnt so much about the music anymore as somebody said in the past, DOA has become a social website with a break looping in the backgound personally i wish it would be at least 50% about the music again, but for some reason i dont think this is going to happen

considering how much DnB i buy every month, it cant be so shit
whats your point anyway ?
because you think DnB is shit, DOA is...... what ?

modern stuff isn't shit, its just getting harder to find the good stuff for 2 reasons :1. the market is saturated in people who think their stuff is good enough for release and :2. genre definitions have become confused and there are so many different ones now
btw i talk about all music not just dnb

No its good now im saying around 2007-2009 it became shit, The board pretty much reflected this, the grid always seemed autonomous from the board, and i enjoyed he board because it had became 50/50 dnb and non dnb drivel...i quite liked that as it reflected how i felt about the scene

until we find a new place, and as Sable pointed out this adress at some point, here it is, until the next exodus. No logo, no wathever, not bouledogues on drugs Feel free to find another place at some point, this place is not very welcoming, but hey, it's just because we'll get lost again if there's no backup We can haz logos? I very much like the name Return To Bass (nod to the old with a fresh name for the new) This is what the sketch I came up with in 5 minutes in pixlr.com earlier and kinda posted over on the "old" new forum... Not to be a dick, but his hand is a fork with a very short handle. Without the Smiley it's not bad.
